On February 24, 2026 a recall has been issued for Elite Treats Chicken Chips for Dogs due to possible Salmonella contamination.

The affected product is packaged in 6-ounce bags bearing Lot #24045 with an expiration date of 04/2027. These dog treats were distributed across multiple southeastern U.S. states.

While no illnesses have been reported yet according to reports from People.com, Salmonella can make both the pets consuming the treats and the humans handling them sick. If you possess this affected product, you must check the U.S. Food and Drug Administration guidelines and stop feeding it to your dog immediately.

You should dispose of the product safely by placing it in a sealed bag or container, or return it for a refund per the manufacturer's instructions.
