Buy Bones, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall of select lots of Nature’s Own Pet Chews Bully Bites after testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) confirmed Salmonella contamination.
The company has stopped production and distribution of the product while working with regulators to investigate the source of contamination. No illnesses in pets or humans have been reported.

• Sold after September 23, 2025
• 34 bags distributed from Minnesota to retail locations in Wisconsin
• Packaged in resealable plastic pouches (approx. 11″ × 9.5″ × 3.5″)
Why the Recall Was Issued
FDA testing confirmed the presence of Salmonella in product samples collected on September 11, 2025.
As a precaution, Buy Bones, Inc. halted production and distribution while the company and FDA investigate the contamination source.
Health Risks
Salmonella can cause illness in animals that consume contaminated products and in people who handle them or contaminated surfaces.
Possible symptoms in pets:
Diarrhea (sometimes bloody), vomiting, fever, lethargy, abdominal pain, decreased appetite. Some pets may carry Salmonella without symptoms but can still spread infection.
If your pet consumed the recalled product and shows symptoms, contact your veterinarian.
What To Do If You Have the Recalled Product

If you purchased affected Bully Bites:
• Stop feeding the product immediately
• Return it to the store for a refund or dispose of it securely
• Do not donate or resell the product
• Wash and sanitize bowls, containers, and surfaces
• Wash hands thoroughly after handling
